Volunteers

Volunteers are an integral part of our organization. Our volunteers consist of life coaches, youth coaches, and therapists - as well as members of the community that help with our furniture and clothing donations for the mothers and their families.

  • Angela Brand - Life Coach

    Angela Brand is a Best-Selling Author, Publisher, Master Trainer, Certified Life Coach, Powerful Empowerment and Motivational Speaker inspiring individuals all over the world to "Take Ownership" of Who they Are, Where they Are, Where they Been, and Where they are Going. She is the Founder/CEO of Queendom Life University where she trains coaches and speakers to get paid to be themselves through the AB Life Coaching & Speaking w/ Power & Passion Certification Programs.

    AB believes because of her struggle of rejection and self-identity crisis, being molested multiple times by 6 different men from the tender age of 5 to 19 yrs old, she was called to empower women to discover their true purpose in life by embracing their Mess as their Message. Her mission is to make an Impact in the world through her message and motivated people to grow and reach for their highest potential.

  • Sheryl Mobley-Young - Mental Health Therapist

    Sheryl Mobley-Young, a native of Charlotte, NC - is a Clinical Social Worker who specializes in Mental Health, Behavioral Health and Addictions. Mrs. Young currently serves as a Therapist for Gracious Hands Transitional Housing. She provides psychotherapy from a holistic approach to individuals and families who presents with mental, life and behavioral challenges.

    She received her Masters in Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University with a minor in Criminal Justice and an associates in Business Administration Management.

    Mrs. Young states “My goal is to help individuals and families maintain a quality healthy lifestyle of living as well as helping one achieve their fullest potential in every meaningful area of their life.”

  • Ashley Murrell - Youth Coach

    Ashley Murrell is a youth life coach and motivational speaker. Ashley is the founder of Heart 2 Heart Youth Mentoring. She is dedicated to helping others succeed and believe in themselves above anything by being steadfast in all endeavors.

    Heart 2 Heart will provide youth support services to Gracious Hands Transitional Housing through a structured program that is designed to display both personal and academic success. The program has a pillar structure that focuses on GROWTH, TRUST, and EMPOWERMENT. With a foundation of FAITH, these pillars will satisfy a strong base for the youth to successfully build his or her empire!

  • Ebony Morman-Youth Mentor

    Ebony Morman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia College Chicago. After college, Ebony mentored students academically in writing. She also mentored students through after-school programs at a local YMCA. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago, Ebony was a writer and editor for an online news publication that spotlighted accomplishments and works of up-and-coming artists.

    Ebony’s career in education began in 2014 when she started teaching eighth-grade English Language Arts in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District. From there, she went on to teach seventh-grade English Language Arts at a charter school in Matthews, NC. In addition to teaching, she was the Beginning Teacher Support Program Coordinator and had the opportunity to support and empower beginning teachers. Her strength and passion is building and sustaining meaningful relationships with youth.

    In 2019, Ebony founded Butterfly Academy, Incorporated and fulfilled a lifelong dream of impacting generations of future leaders. Butterfly Academy’s vision is to transform underserved communities by providing its youth with equal access, opportunity and exposure to the arts, mentorship and experiential learning. Since inception, the organization has served more than 100 of Charlotte’s youth through partnerships with other local nonprofits and agencies.

    In 2023, she founded Write with Heart, LLC., a writing and editorial services company. In addition to writing for more than 10 publications nationwide, she helps cultivate connections through storytelling by crafting exceptional, transformative content that expands possibilities for businesses, organizations and individuals.

    In her spare time, she enjoys mentoring youth, traveling, exercising, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends.
